Application Processes

The Human Resource Department at San Luis Valley Community Mental Health Center takes pride in its transparent and consistent hiring practices. We follow the same protocol for all positions to ensure unbiased Equal Employment Opportunity to all applicants. Upon receiving an application or resume, the name of the applicant is entered into a database, thus ensuring that no applications are lost or misplaced. Afterwards, upon closing of position the recruiter does a preliminary evaluation of applicants and submits copies of all application and evaluation to the hiring manager. The hiring manager will select the most suitable candidates for interviews within two weeks. The interviews are performed with three other directors or supervisors who evaluate the applicant in a systematic manner both with questions and with an applicant-evaluation form. The hiring manager makes a pre-hire selection and candidates enter a comprehensive background-check process. The applicants who were not chosen receive a letter within five business days, after position is filled, informing them of the decision.
