Counseling
Services provided by the Center are very broad to address the needs of our adult and child / adolescent consumers. Services may include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, school-based services, adventure / outdoor programs, and public education.
Access/24 Hour Crisis Intervention

Access: The Center is handicapped accessible and is easily reached off Hwy. 285 and County Road 9 South (or the Airport Road.) Free parking is available.

The Emergency Services Team is made up of mental health professionals who are trained to respond to community, family and individual crises.
- Evaluations for psychiatric hospitalization, crisis intervention and participation on school crisis teams are integral parts of the Center's 24-Hour Crisis Intervention. The team can be reached at 719-589-3671.

Psychiatric services
Our medical director is Gregory P. Caesar, M.D. who lives with his family in the Valley and is passionate about helping people. In his recent article in the SLV Mental Health Center's newsletter Mental Health Matters, Dr. Caesar stresses, "The main point I want parents to know is that clinical depression is a very treatable illness." Psychiatric services at the SLV Mental Health center include: psychiatric consultation for adults, adolescents, children, geriatric and developmentally disabled individuals, as well as, ongoing medication management.
Child Psychiatrist Paul Mattox, M.D. joined our team in July 2005. He provides child mental health services on a part-time basis.
Psychological Services
Jim Grant, Psy. D. heads up Psychological Evaluation including evaluations of intelligence and personality, for children and adults.
In-school services for students are available and are located in school districts throughout the Valley.
Sexual & Physical Abuse Services
Individual and group therapy for victims of abuse and their family members is also provided by the San Luis Valley Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center.
